Farewell

    The day has finally come; the Winged Warriors are no more.

Back in the days of Halo 2, we were a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield. We were strengthened by our motto; “Excellence in Teamwork, Communication, Planning and Good Sportsmanship.” I truly miss how active we were back then, I could always count on everyone being online on Tuesdays and Thursdays to practice and just have fun.

Then Halo 3 came around and we kept moving forward, our numbers may have rarely increased but our friendships grew ever stronger. Unfortunately, times changed, and Warriors retired. Our vision changed as well; we ventured from the realm of the competitive to the recreational. Practices were now weekly get-togethers, and many nights it was not uncommon to see only a handful of Warriors come online. Times change, and real life obligations should always come first.

I still remember the day I became a Winged Warrior. It was my first experience as a member of a true clan. During my four years as a Warrior I had the privilege of meeting many great people, and making many great friends. I can honestly say if I had not found the Winged Warriors, I would not be the person I am today. I am extremely grateful to all my fellow Warriors; Pieter, Brett, Sean, Ben, Tony, Nate, John, Stoney and Ryan. I will always remember the experiences we shared, and I look forward to the future.

So the day has come; it was a hard decision, but we feel that the time is right and the Winged Warriors should be laid to rest. We would like to thank everyone for the good times, and we would like to thank our fellow communities for their support, without you guys we probably would not have lasted for so long.

Finally I would like to personally thank Pieter. Thank you for seeing potential in me and not only allowing me to join the ranks but entrusting me with the role of leader after your departure. I hope I have kept the Winged Warriors in the image you created, and I hope that one day we will meet again; whether online or in the real world.

Happy Birthday Winged Warriors!

    Only five years ago, Night Rider 7 founded the Winged Warriors on the motto, "Excellence in Teamwork, Communication, Planning and Good Sportsmanship." Now five years, 45 clan matches and 219 clan match games later the Winged Warriors are still one of the leading competitive clans in the Halo Community. On January 16th, 2005 the founding members were determined to become better in both practice and principle, and to elevate their standards above the mob. The Winged Warriors have succeeded for five years and will continue our mission till the end of time.

Sincere thanks to everyone who has helped us get this far, there are too many to mention but we owe part of our success to our supporters in the Halo Community; especially our allies. Most of all, I thank the members who make up the Winged Warriors, you are truly the blood of the clan and you have definitely proven to the world that nothing can stop you when you put your hearts into it. Here's to another incredible and successful year of excellence in teamwork, communication, planning and good sportsmanship!
