Game one was decided by Team Awesomness: Shotty Snipers on Narrows. The game was incredibly competitive. The tide shifted back and forth many times with neither team letting the other gain a large advantage. The body of the game consisted of many typical rushes for center control and exchanges of sniper bullets. With only minutes left on the clock and the Winged Warriors holding a 49-48 lead we decided to play completely defensive. Camping in every nook and cranny of the blue base the Winged Warriors were ready to wait out the remaining time or force Team Awesomness into blindly rushing. Team Awesomness patiently held back in the center of the map and rained down grenades on all parts of the base narrowly missing many of the Warriors. With a late headshot on Isnagov, Team Awesomness tied the game with almost no time left. The game looked like it was going to end in a tie, when a voice broke over the headsets and said “I’ve got invis, can I rush them?” said WW Horizon, a resounding yes was shouted. A few seconds later the echo of a shotgun blast could be heard and the Warriors took game one with a breath stealing 50-49 victory.

Game two put control into the hands of the Winged Warriors and we chose territories on Sandtrap. With an early victory over Team Awesomness the Warriors had the momentum and going into one of our favorite game types we were very confident. With a time tested strategy the Winged Warriors immediately set out for the Banshee and early map control, well that was the plan anyway. Time after time Team Awesomness shut down the use of the banshee and grabbed control of the sniper rifle. With the banshee being removed from the equation the Winged Warriors had a large gap in their strategy and with all of their resources going towards that goal they were hard pressed to get back in the game. With excellent power weapon control and teamwork Team Awesomness pulled out an impressive win grabbing seven territories to our five.

Going into game three with a tie score Team Awesomness threw some flags into the mix. With a map as large as Valhalla, vehicles are very important for moving precious cargo from one side to the other, or in WW Horizon’s case to rain fiery plasma down on your enemies. Both teams had an equal number of flag grabs, but with Team Awesomness having two less stops the Winged Warriors took a 2 to 0 lead through the time limit.

With the lead back into the hands of the Winged Warriors, Multi-Flag on Narrows was decided for game four. The start of the game began with both teams scurrying across the map for the multiple power ups and power weapons. Chaos ensued with both teams bashing their way into each others base for a try at the opposing teams’ flag. Team Awesomness took an early lead until the Winged Warriors fought their way back. Even though the Warriors had superior slaying, Team Awesomness managed to sneak out with our flag three times for the win.

With a 2-2 tie, both teams winning the others game type, the final game was decided by both teams. The Winged Warriors chose good old Team Slayer, while Team Awesomness picked Highground as the battle field. With no chosen plan other than to kill and not get killed the Winged Warriors started strong and held the lead throughout most of the game. Eventually the Warriors found themselves holding the beach with sniper cover and stretching the lead more and more. With shiny teamwork and power weapon control the Winged Warriors, led by WW Fuffalo with an impressive 26 kills, took the final “V” and with it the clan match.
The Winged Warriors would like to thank Team Awesomness for bringing a great competitive spirit and pushing us to our limits in a great series of matches. Any of those games could have gone the other way in the blink of an eye. We learned many things about our strategies and team work and thank Team Awesomness for helping us improve our game.
