Winged Warriors vs. Wicked Jesters

    It has been some time since our last clan match, 7 months and 15 days to be exact. Going in we were a little unsure of how we would perform. We knew very little about our opponent; however we knew that as long as we followed the Winged Warrior motto "Excellence in Teamwork, Communication, Planning and Good Sportsmanship" we could never be defeated.

Game I - Multi-Flag on Valhalla

    In order to ease ourselves back into the clan match mindset, we selected a game in which we are very well acquainted. From the start both teams vied for control of laser in order to take command of the map. With the laser in our hands, we pushed back the Wicked Jester rush and safely made our way back to base. Since we were still a little rusty, we decided to play solid defense for the start of the game in order to gauge the skill of the Wicked Jesters. Even though this strategy gave the Wicked Jesters control of the center, we still kept them on their toes by sending over one warrior to pull their flag. Unfortunately, halfway in the game the Wicked Jesters broke through our defense and stole the flag. With the flag past the point of no return, we struck fast and pulled off a counter cap tying the game at one a piece. Then right before we captured their flag the Wicked Jesters man cannoned our flag out to center and through strong teamwork they were able to take the lead 2-1 with six minutes left in the game. With the lead, the Wicked Jesters began to relentlessly rush our base. However, after hi-jacking their banshee and claiming a fresh laser we took control of the map and kept the Wicked Jesters at bay. Then with a little over a minute left in the game, Isnagov infiltrated their base and pulled their flag to top center. Upon his death he was unmercifully tea-bagged by Halo Ninja76. Upon seeing this, Pastemaster rushed in and cut down Halo Ninja76 and his teammate. Now with flag in hand, Pastemaster was escorted by Isnagov in a warthog back to the base, and with 15 seconds to spare the Winged Warriors tied the game; 2-2.

Game II - MLG Team Slayer on Guardian

    Then in the pregame lobby we were met with a flurry of trash talk from the Wicked Jesters. They then made the point that if it had been an MLG game we would never stand a chance. It was not surprise what they would choose to play for game two. At the start, the Wicked Jesters clearly showed their talent in MLG and we were down in the scoreboard. Fortunately, our teamwork and communication eventually broke their control and the lead was ours. For the remainder of the game, kills and bullets were exchanged, but the Wicked Jesters could not regain the lead.

Game III - Team BRs on Standoff

    As soon as we selected the game type and map for game three, the Wicked Jesters became furious and berated us for wanting to play a game that included vehicles. The game began and it was a stalemate for the first two kills as both teams had their warthogs up and running. However, once the Wicked Jesters warthog had been put down the Warriors began to pull away on the scoreboard. At the 11 minute mark the score was 25-9 in our favor. The Wicked Jesters gave us a scare as they were able to escape with a fresh laser, however, our teamwork combined with hog support allowed us to neutralize the laser threat. Overall warthog and laser control was our key to victory in the match. The Wicked Jesters were only able to control the laser for a minute and possess an operational warthog for less than 30 seconds. The Winged Warriors won the game by a score of 50-31.

Game IV - MLG Team Slayer on The Pit

    Going into the fourth game we knew that if we were victorious we would claim the victory in the match. So we braced ourselves for their MLG selection. Luckily they chose The Pit, which is by far our second best map. From the start the Winged Warriors dominated the map and eventually came to control both snipers with in the first few minutes. With sniper control the Warriors cut down the Wicked Jesters and by the 13 minute mark the Warriors were up by 10 kills. Unfortunately the Wicked Jesters pushed hard and our defensive wall shattered and the lead briefly rested in their hands until the 11 minute mark when the lead was resumed by the Warriors and held for the remainder of the game. The Winged Warriors won the game 50-38, and sealed the victory in the match with a record of 3-0-1.

Game III - Team Swat on Guardian

    With the victory in the books, the Winged Warriors decided to calm the fury of the Wicked Jesters by allowing them to choose whatever they wanted for the fifth game. Usually the fifth game is a split decision, in which one team selects the map and the other selects the game type. The Wicked Jesters chose Team Swat on Guardian, and as we expected half of their team immediately donned the elite exterior. The game began and we were met with a variety of surprises. For one both power-ups were on the map and the weapons on the map were default, meaning a person could find a hammer as well as a sniper. Overall the game was close but we could never gain the lead. The Wicked Jesters won by seven points.

Summary

This is usually the time in which we thank the opposing team for the match, but honestly we cannot bring ourselves to do it. Due to the tea-bagging incident in game one, the constant trash talking after each game and the overall Non-Good Game behavior of the Wicked Jesters; this decision was very easy for us. We have decided to place a permanent ban on any future clan matches with the Wicked Jesters.
